Rest is supposed to help — so why does it sometimes make you feel worse?

In this episode, I explore why slowing down can feel uncomfortable, unsettling, or even wrong when you’re used to coping, pushing through, or staying busy just to get by.

We talk about the hidden adjustment phase that often follows stopping, why guilt and restlessness can surface when things finally quieten, and how rest doesn’t always arrive as calm — sometimes it arrives as honesty.

This episode gently reframes rest as a necessary condition for regulation and clarity, not a reward that has to be earned. We look at why discomfort doesn’t mean rest has failed, and how learning to feel safe without urgency takes time.

Season 3 of Let’s Stop Your Thought Bully is about rebuilding energy, reclaiming inner authority, and moving forward without force. This episode is for anyone who has tried to rest — and felt more unsettled instead.

If slowing down feels harder than keeping going, you’re not doing anything wrong.

You’re just in the middle.

You’re not alone with your Thought Bully — I’m right here with you.
